Letter from Jörg Klotz to the “Association for Luis Amplatz Donations” with thanks for previous support and a request for additional support because of a “stroke of fate.”

Since his flight after the “Night of Flames,” Jörg Klotz lived in self-imposed exile in Austria, but was arrested and exiled from Tyrol to Vienna twice – for various reasons, not the least of which was the political pressure exerted by Italy. From 1972 till his death in 1976, he lived in a hut in the Ruetz Valley. In December of 1974, his hut burned down – which was probably the motivation for this letter.

“Georg Klotz, Passeier Valley
Now living in exile in Innsbruck, Feb. 13, 1974

Dear Friends of the Association for Luis Amplatz Donations,
I would like to express my heart-felt thanks for the support which you have extended to me in the past.
Unfortunately, I was struck by another fateful blow shortly before Christmas.
Because I can expect absolutely no aid from official agencies, I would like to ask you if you could and would help me.

With the greatest respect,

Georg Klotz”
