Luis Amplatz from Gries near Bozen

Luis Amplatz was one of the first BAS activists, and a close confidant of Sepp Mitterhofer. Luis Amplatz was in contact with all of the BAS groups, and undertook several missions in South Tyrol together with Jörg Klotz. On September 7, 1964, at the “Brunner Mahdern” hay barn near Saltaus, Luis Amplatz was shot and killed in his sleep by Christian Kerbler, an agent of the Italian intelligence agency.
